Southeast Asian Bronze 3-Leg Vessel with Stand

( 800 - 1600 AD)

An unusual and beautiful bronze vessel with stand of Southeast Asian origin probably from about 800 AD onwards. The vessel has a marbled deep blue and olive green patina. The pot has a narrow neck with a flat rim and stands on three legs with dragon face joints. The vessel rests one a separate base plate and has an olive green ladle with a dragon shape on the end of the handle. The basic  shape of the vessel and the 3 leg design was widely used throughout Asia over a long period.
