Neolithic Chinese Jade Bracelet / Bangle

(estimate 2500 - 2000 BC)

An early neolithic jade/green stone bracelet or burial bangle. The material is probably a green stone material similar to jade but not true jade. The unusual aspect of this bracelet are the fine asymmetric holes drilled from side to side. Originally there were probably 4 holes. The bracelet is in two pieces with one small section missing. It appears that the bracelet was broken during the time it was buried, possibly from pressure. This piece was found in the same grave as the other jade bracelet on the main page.
