Vietnamese Dong Son
Era Bronze Spear (200 BC - 200 AD) A
bronze Vietnamese Dong Son era spear tip. The spear tips were placed on
the end of wooden shafts. The patina and color are typical of Dong Son
bronze artifacts, which tends to deteriorate deep into the metal while
leaving smooth areas that demarcate the original surface. One can see
that the original spears were fairly well polished.
