(circa 1850)

A rare antique Chinese Nanking (Nanjing) clock. Nanking clocks were among the earliest clocks fully designed and handmade in China in the 1800s. The clock has a second hand and two brass bells that sound of the hours and fifteen minute intervals. The clock sits in a beautiful rosewood cradle and stand. The entire assembly stands 66 cm tall. The clock cabinet has carving and glass windows on both sides. A small drawer in the front below the clock holds two winding keys.
