Early Thai Pottery, Ban Chiang, Thailand

(200 BC - 300 AD)

A typical example of early Thai pottery from the Ban Chiang area. The pottery designs were rather heavy compared to their Chinese counterparts and the coloration of the finished products less uniform. The texture and the slightly raised ring around the girth are typical of Ban Chiang Pottery. The pot is 19 cm. tall and 17 cm. wide.
